The IRATA Level 3 is an experienced rope access technician who is responsible for understanding and implementing the rope access procedures, method statements and associated risk assessments.

An IRATA Level 3 is capable of site supervision for rope access works and is able to demonstrate good knowledge of required rope access information.

He/she also has an extensive knowledge of advanced rigging and rescue techniques.

IRATA Level 3 pre training Requirements:

a) A minimum of one year at level 2 and at least a further 1000 verified working hours using rope access techniques i.e. a combined total of two years work experience and 2000 verified working hours.

b) A current IRATA Level 2 certification

c) For Revalidation of IRATA Level 3 certificate ,

1)A current IRATA level 3 certificate (recommended to be within 180 days of expiry)

2) IRATA certificate expired and is within 2 years from expiry date should consult Procedure for IRATA certification (TC-032)
